Thoreau High School - Through the Lens of Media Showcase-This event showcased student-led projects that demonstrated media integration across both cross-curricular and single-subject instruction, specifically in ELA, Science, Math, and History.
Students used a variety of tools—including digital presentations, posters, Canva design tools, and research strategies—to explore academic content and present their findings through engaging media formats. As part of the process, students also reflected on their learning using the GMCS Graduate Profile, emphasizing key skills such as communication, responsibility, and critical thinking.

🎬 Thoreau Media Showcase | May 13, 2025 🎬
A huge shoutout to all the talented students who brought history, innovation, and creativity to life during this year's Media Showcase!
📸 Photo 1: Seniors Malaysia Nez and Jodace Larry took us back to the 1920s, dressed in period attire as they broke down the economic marvel of the Ford Model T.
📸 Photo 2: Seniors Nikki George, Khalil Dodge, and Matias Chavez impressed with video footage of the Model T assembly line, explaining how it sparked a massive economic boom — even doubling the minimum wage of the time.
🎞️ Photos 3–5: Juniors wowed us with their original 2-minute short films, showcasing storytelling, editing, and visual creativity.
🎥 Photos 6–8: Sophomore students created movie-size posters for their impactful 2-minute environmental awareness videos, blending art and advocacy.
👏 Thank you to all the students and staff who made this event a success! The future of media is bright at Thoreau High!
